Sunday Funday: Brunch Edition

I've begun to appreciate Sundays a whole lot more. The usual dread that accompanies a Sunday night is never fun, but the first 2/3rd's of that day can be spent in ways to make up for the inevitability of Monday morning.

Brunch:

My favorite meal of the day. Unfortunately it's only available on the weekend, so it's important to make it count.

Honey's Sit 'N Eat (800 North 4th Street; 215-925-115) is a favorite for many, this girl included. The waits are long, but it's most definitely worth it.

Sabrina's (910 Christian Street, (215) 574-1599 & 1804 Callowhill Street, (215) 636-9061) is also another brunch spot that holds a dear place in my heart for their uniquely named menu items. I'm a fan of the "Pour Some Sugar on Me" Stuffed French Toast.

I would eat here every Sunday if it was possible. The Morning Glory Diner (735 S.10th St., 215-413-3999) is tops when it comes to brunch. Everything is fresh, local, and homemade. It's hard to pick just one thing off the menu.

Our neighbors, Spread Bagelry (262 S. 20th St., 215-545-0626) never disappoint with their aaaaamazing Montreal-style bagels. Feel free to top them with any of the delicious local and fresh spreads, and then wash it all down with a Bloody Mary from their BYOV service on the weekend. What could be better?

Just in time for Sunday brunch, stop by Arcadia and pick up the perfect Sunday Funday attire.

Jukebox The Ghost

Hey everyone!

It is time to bring a new and exciting band to your wonderful ears! I would like to introduce you to Jukebox the Ghost:

The band met while attending George Washington University and have been a growing success ever since touring with the likes of Ben Folds, Guster, Adam Green, and Jack's Mannequin. These charming gentlemen have just released their 3rd album titled "Safe Travels." The album balances between the peppy piano pop of songs like the album’s upbeat opener “Somebody”, the bouncy synth-pop of “Oh, Emily” and the radio-ready drama of “Don’t Let Me Fall Behind” to more poignant, contemplative songs in the album’s second half that represent the band’s desire to travel into new sonic territory.

Here is their single "Somebody:"

This album has been playing through my house and through my car's speakers non-stop! Check them out and let me know how you like them!

They will be playing here in Philadelphia at the FREE AT NOON show THIS FRIDAY 6/29 at WORLD LIVE CAFE!!!!
Enjoy!

Arcadia Monday mantra...

Believe in what makes you happy:)

mantra is a sound, syllable, word, or group of words that is considered capable of "creating transformation".

Every Monday I will post a new thought, idea, or focus for the week. When you need a breather from life, when you need a little inspiration, or when you're about to jump off the bridge.... remember the mantra:)
Hope you have a wonderful week!
Live freely,
Becky
