July is coming to a close, but there is one last event that will surely make the last month of the summer a memorable one. And that is the annual 2nd St. Festival in Northern Liberties held on July 31st. The festival was founded by Owen Kamihira, owner of Bar Ferdinand and El Camino Real; Oron Daskal, owner of North Bowl, and William Reed, owner of Standard Tap and Johnny Brenda’s. These are just a few of the many restaurants, boutiques, bars, and vendors that will be participating in this 6-block party!
This year the founders of the 2nd St. Festival have teamed up with the Philadelphia Folksong Society to put on what promises to be quite the shindig! There will be FOUR all-day stages set at the 2nd St. intersections at Poplar, George, and Fairmount and one in the Piazza. They promise music that should satisfy any taste- from grassroots to R&B!
