Pretty.Little.Things by Mary Carnes
Inspired by Victorian and Edwardian period jewelry & hand-crated in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Mary Carnes' necklaces exude vintage charm in the most luxurious sense. She sources forgotten treasures from antique shops & flea markets around the state, and pairs them with beautiful beads and segments of antique chains to create gorgeous one-of-a-kind jewelry. Hand engraved lockets, real gold-filled and silver-plated mechanical pencils from decades past, and authentic horse shoe charms are just tiny parts of her creations. Stop by Rittenhouse to check out the collection!
My two favorites are at the bottom, so be sure to scroll down!
Cheers,
Alex

Chilli Lime Kale Chips
I saw this yummy (and healthy) recipe online the other day. Kale is in season right now - so I think I will try and make this some time this week. These baked kale chips are a really great snack loaded with calcium, Vitamin A, C and many other important nutrients.

Chili Lime Kale Chips
Baked kale chips are so easy and fast. You can season kale chips with many flavorings, in this case we lift the flavor of earthy kale with bright lime and smoky chili powder.
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 12 minutes
Total Time: 18 minutes
Yield: serves 2-4
Ingredients
- 1 bunch Kale
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/4 teaspoon salt (the finer the better)
- zest of 1 lime
- 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
- additional salt to taste
Method
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Remove the thick ribs from kale leaves then wash them thoroughly. Once washed, use a salad spinner to dry them completely (hand or paper towels will also work). If the kale leaves are not dry, they will steam instead of becoming crisp.
- Tear the kale leaves into bite sized pieces then add them to a large bowl. Add olive oil and 1/4 teaspoon of salt then use tongs or your hands to toss the kale so the oil and salt distributes evenly.
- Add the kale in one layer to a large baking sheet (you may need to work in batches). Then, bake in the oven until crisp, 10-12 minutes. If after 10-12 minutes the kale is not yet crisp, bake another 2-3 minutes, however, stay close to watch for the kale becoming overcooked/browned.
- Remove the kale and while it is still hot, sprinkle with the lime zest and chili powder. Enjoy immediately.
I will be trying this soon!
Cheers,
Alex

Tried & True: Kelly Lane
We <3 Kelly Lane Designs!
Part six of Arcadia's bestseller series features Kelly Lane Designs, created a stone's throw away in Pittsburgh, PA. After being gifted a sewing machine from her husband in 2005, Kelly eagerly created her first vibrantly colorful collection. She incorporates sustainable fabrics and the collections are always "ethically produced by a family-run business in New York’s garment district. The result is limited run, high-quality clothing with a conscience."

We've got many great fall & holiday pieces from Kelly in. But hurry - they won't be on our racks for long! Don't forget about last season's best-selling Asteroid Dress.

Tried & True: Stewart + Brown
Behold part five of our series focusing on Arcadia's best selling lines. Stewart + Brown launched in 2002 by partners Karen Stewart and Howard Brown and were pioneers for the sustainable fashion movement. Inspired by nature and a respect for taking the bare minimum from the Earth, the extensive collection boats luxurious winter knits, super comfortable jersey lounge wear, and a plethora of dress styles for any occasion. To top it all off, they also donate a potion of profits to non-governmental environmental and social welfare organizations.
We've got lots of great Stewart+Brown pieces in for this fall/winter season. Try on the Waffle Coat Sweater, our best-selling Jordie Leggings and the coziest Cowl Tunic Sweatshirt!
Cheers,
Alex
