New Year, New Resolutions: Natalie's List

Happy 2012 to all!!
I like to reflect on my habits/ life/ goals/ etc. with every change of season, but the beginning of the calendar year is an especially easy time to remember and plan for the year ahead.

With all of the indulgence of the holidays, it seems like everyone resolves to eat healthier and be more active.  Me too :)

1. Make green smoothies at least once/ week.
My current fav combo:
1 apple
juice of 1 lemon

1 cucumber
1/2 avocado
a huge bunch of kale
1/2 cup water

It's the best mix- the apple makes it sweet, the cucumber gives it freshness and the avocado makes it slightly creamy.  delish.

makes 4-5 cups
*if you're making a whole blender full, use the whole avocado.

2. Spend quality time at home (and use my fireplace!)
Warm socks, warm fire, hot coffee- couldn't be better. 
Live in the moment and enjoy the simple pleasures in life.  Take time to relax.

3. Craft it up!  Make something every week.
Keep yarn out in the open to encourage more knitting, embroidery and sewing (and it looks cool if you hang it!)
Paper flowers!  Experiment with different textures, colors and some fabric scraps too!

I'll keep it to just 3 resolutions for now...
here's to realistic goals and minimal stress in 2012!
